Grayson Highlands, Virginia's largest state park, spans over 4,500 acres and offers breathtaking vistas and the unique sight of wild ponies. With trails that stretch nearly 15 miles, runners will be treated to expansive views, waterfalls, and rhododendron tunnels, all while traversing over historical stone walls. The park features some of the highest terrain in Virginia, including Little Pinnacle at 5,089 feet, providing incredible scenery, including glimpses of two states and the majestic Mt. Rogers. Though visually stunning, the course is challenging with significant elevation changes and rocky, technical sections. Runners will experience a mix of short, steep climbs, smooth, rolling hills, and flat stretches, making this trail race a true test of endurance. Overall, this event offers a remarkable blend of natural beauty and rigorous terrain, ensuring it's one of the most picturesque runs in the region.
