This challenging 50k+ race is designed for seasoned trail runners, featuring some of Connecticut’s most demanding and rugged pathways. Participants will tackle the technical Regicides and Quinnipiac Trails, climbing over 6,550 feet throughout the course. Beginning at West Rock Playground, runners will first navigate a crushed gravel path, then ascend the Westville Feeder Trail, leading to the rocky terrain of the Regicides Trail. After an ascent to High Rock, the course offers varied scenery, including a descent to Brooks Rd and a climb up Mad Mare Ridge. The route encompasses sections of road and dirt, summiting Mt. Sanford and featuring a passage near the state’s tallest waterfall before reaching the turnaround. This race is not for beginners; only those with a recent qualifying 50k finish or comparable experience will be considered.
