Participants will experience high elevations ranging from 2500 to 4700 feet, navigating diverse terrains that include woodland paths, rocky paths, and boggy areas, with lower elevations featuring northern hardwoods and higher altitudes dominated by Red Spruce and heath barrens. Canaan, known as the highest large valley east of the Mississippi, is central to this adventure. The unique environment features wetlands and uplands that host vegetation typical of more northern climates, adding to the race's allure and presenting a challenging experience for participants as they tackle the varied terrain.
