The Tick is a challenging 50-mile point-to-point trail race that includes an additional 7.41 mandatory miles. This route follows the stunning Florida National Scenic Trail, stretching from Alexander Springs State Park to the Rodman Reservoir Dam. Due to limited water access, runners must have crew support at designated stops, with the longest stretch between them being about 10.5 miles. As you navigate this wilderness course, you'll dive deep into the Ocala National Forest, discovering a range of ecosystems—lakes, prairies, marshes, and dense pine and hardwood forests. Participants often encounter wildlife including deer, bobcats, bears, and various bird species, adding to the race's vibrant natural experience.
