The McKenzie River Trail Run spans 31 miles along one of the most stunning trails in the U.S., following the picturesque McKenzie River. Runners will encounter breathtaking sights including two impressive waterfalls, the pristine Clear Lake, ancient lava flows, and towering old-growth forests. Key features include numerous log bridges and the striking aquamarine Tamolitch Pool, where the river emerges from an underground lava tube. This race presents a technically challenging course with moderate elevation gains, allowing participants to immerse themselves in Oregon's natural beauty. As the state's oldest continuous ultramarathon, the event also supports local non-profits and businesses while being conducted under a special use permit from the Willamette National Forest.
