The Rocky Raccoon event has evolved into a celebrated standalone Rocky 50 Trail Race, now featuring only the 50-mile distance. This scenic course is perfect for those tackling their first ultra or seeking a speedy trail run. It offers a realistic trail running experience with gentle elevation changes, exposed tree roots, picturesque pine forests underfoot, charming bridges, and stunning views of a beautiful east Texas lake, all while surrounded by local wildlife. Runners can expect well-stocked aid stations staffed by enthusiastic volunteers to support them along the way. Participants receive an array of cool swag, including a trucker cap or neck gaiter for those registering after the deadline. Keep in mind that the event at Huntsville State Park has a participant cap, ensuring an intimate race experience amidst the natural beauty.
