This challenging road race spans approximately 37 miles from Port Mayaca to Stuart Beach in humid South Florida. Set against the backdrop of the “Toxic” water flow from Lake Okeechobee to the ocean, runners will engage in a hot and demanding course that aims to raise awareness about environmental issues stemming from water discharges. Participants are encouraged to unite along the route, showing support with banners and signs, as the event emphasizes the urgent need for action to protect local waterways. The goal is to rally community momentum for clean water initiatives and the restoration of the Everglades and Indian River Lagoon Estuary.
