The race begins with the scenic McGahey Canyon trail, progressing counterclockwise around Cape Chignecto, covering over 51 kilometers with a vertical gain of approximately 2,200 meters. Runners will encounter three aid stations and navigate through challenging, muddy single-track terrain. It promises to be an exhilarating adventure, perfect for those seeking a robust challenge. For those daring enough to tackle two loops, bragging rights await—only a few have completed this formidable feat. The true test lies in undertaking three loops, considered one of the toughest in the Maritime Provinces, with only one individual achieving this milestone in past editions. Participants may witness two stunning sunrises, but they should be prepared for a demanding experience that rivals a 100-miler. There’s even the option to officially extend the course for those aiming for the full 100 miles.
