The Leaky Hourglass is an innovative Last Man Standing race where the cutoff time decreases each hour. Runners start with 60 minutes to complete a 4.167-mile out-and-back loop, losing one minute per hour until the last individual remaining can finish a lap. The course features a chip-sealed rural highway with rolling hills, offering about 250 feet of elevation gain per lap. Participants can expect an energized atmosphere with one staffed aid station at the start/finish and an unmanned station at the turnaround. As the route is not closed to traffic, runners must stay alert, running against traffic, and carry a headlamp and flasher after sunset.
