Backyard ultras are a true test of endurance, where runners must manage both mental and physical challenges while coping with fatigue and sleep deprivation. The Paradise Backyard Ultra unfolds at Paradise Park, featuring a looped course of 6.71 kilometers that winds through the T-rail and around Octagon Pond. Runners must complete each loop within an hour, with the race potentially lasting over 24 hours as they strive to outlast each other. Every hour, participants set off together to tackle the next loop, and if any runner fails to finish in time, they are eliminated. The race continues until only one competitor remains who can complete a loop within the required timeframe. This ultimate test of stamina culminates with the last person standing being crowned the winner, having completed the most loops while adhering to the time limits.
