Participants can choose among 50 miles and 50K races in the scenic Finger Lakes National Forest. Both races feature a challenging loop course of 16.5 miles, beginning and ending at The Potomac Group Campground. Traversing primarily single-track trails (85%), grassy pastures (5%), and some dirt and paved roads (10%), the course has an elevation gain of 1,292 feet per loop. Runners will face the option to complete either distance, with the 50-milers tackling three loops plus an additional half-mile. After the race, there’s an inviting atmosphere with a BBQ and awards ceremony, enhancing the community spirit. Runners are encouraged to camp over the weekend and should not hesitate to join the waitlist if the race is full, as most applicants receive invites. With six fully stocked aid stations, runners are well-supported throughout the course.
