Experience the thrilling challenge of a 100-mile trail ultra at the Shippey Endurance Runs, set amidst the scenic rolling hills of the Beaumont Scout Reservation near Greater St. Louis. This unique event showcases a tough, unspoiled trail system that is normally off-limits to the public. The course features five legs ranging from 3.2 to 5.3 miles, making up a 20-mile loop that runners will complete multiple times depending on their chosen distance. You'll encounter steep climbs, ridgeline paths, descents, and various terrains, combining about 75% single and double track with 25% jeep roads. Convenience is key with indoor aid stations and close proximity for crews, ensuring support every 3-5.3 miles. The loop alternates direction each year, adding variety to the experience. Be prepared for unpredictable weather and know that the trails were built without switchbacks, making for a truly invigorating and challenging run. Hydration is provided by a local company, and drop bags are allowed at aid stations. This event promises an exceptional adventure for those ready to embrace the challenge.
