The Mid-state Mile is set on a challenging course known as The Murder Mile, located just a short drive from Downtown Franklin. Runners will tackle a loop that spans one mile with an elevation gain of 340 feet. The terrain features two notable climbs interspersed with fast sections and a gentle downhill stretch leading back to the start/finish area. The wide double track, originally an old logging road, provides a solid footing for participants. This race is structured as a Last Man Standing event, requiring competitors to complete each loop within 20 minutes. While the distance itself may seem straightforward, participants must maintain a pace of at least 3 miles per hour to remain in contention.
