The Van Cortlandt Park 50k is an ultramarathon designed to cater to both novice and experienced runners, offering a balanced mix of challenge and accessibility. Runners will navigate a course featuring ten loops of a classic cross country track, beginning with a flat lap. While there are some rocks and roots, they are not overly abundant, making the course manageable. The total elevation gain is approximately 2200 feet, adding an extra layer of endurance testing. Runners will have convenient access to an aid station stocked with a variety of refreshments, including water, Gatorade, and snacks, located within 1.5 miles of their drop bags. Each finisher will receive custom medals, a limited edition singlet, and enjoy a post-race hot meal and cold beer. Trophies and cash prizes await overall winners, enhancing the competitive spirit of this exciting event.
