The Ponderosa Polar Challenge offers a distinctive endurance experience nestled near Zion National Park, set within the scenic Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort. Participants can select their preferred distance, ranging from 1 mile to an impressive 150 miles, all designed for completion within a 52-hour timeframe. The race encompasses two loop options, one mile and four miles, allowing runners to choose their path until they reach their desired race distance. This event emphasizes enjoyment and community rather than competition, encouraging runners, hikers, and walkers to savor the surroundings while pursuing their own adventures. Runners tackling distances of 50K and beyond will have access to a variety of meals and snacks throughout the event, fueling their journey with offerings like sandwiches, a taco bar, and other hearty options provided at the aid stations. The race honors the spirits of Lois Krotz and Tom McCabe, with proceeds benefiting dog rescues and trail maintenance efforts. Participants are invited to enjoy a supportive weekend of camaraderie at the ranch, complete with camping included in registration, making it an unforgettable winter adventure.
