The Ironstone 100K is a grueling point-to-point ultramarathon set against the rugged backdrop of the Allegheny Mountains. Starting at Canoe Creek State Park, the course weaves through the remarkable technical terrain, including the Standing Stone, Mid State, and Lower Trails, before finishing at Greenwood Furnace State Park. Runners will encounter scenic river views, old-growth pines, and the unique challenge of ridge running atop Tussey Mountain. Participants face a demanding course with limited aid stations, no pacers, and the added complexity of night running, making the 100K a true test of endurance and skill. Athletes must finish within 23 hours, with the terrain presenting challenges right from the outset. Finishers receive a distinct metal award, a flannel shirt, and refreshments from local food trucks, celebrating their accomplishment in style.
