The MMT is a tough 100-mile trail ultra that navigates the rugged terrain of Virginia's Massanutten Mountains. Participants will face short, steep climbs that accumulate over 18,000 feet of elevation gain, making the course particularly challenging. Despite typically favorable weather in May, previous events have encountered rain and storms, adding to the race's unpredictability. Runners benefit from well-stocked and friendly aid stations, alongside good course markings to guide them. All participants are required to carry a GPS tracking device, and finish times are recorded by volunteers rather than relying solely on GPS data.
