The Superior 50 KM Trail Race is a challenging ultramarathon set in the stunning Sawtooth Mountain Range along the Superior Hiking Trail in northern Minnesota. Participants will experience the beauty of the area as the course runs parallel to the magnificent Lake Superior, reaching nearly 2000-foot peaks with breathtaking views of both the lake and nearby forests. Runners will navigate through the enchanting Boreal forests and cross both whitewater rivers and tranquil streams. Starting and finishing at Caribou Highlands Resort in Lutsen, this out-and-back trail race features an elevation gain and loss of 4200 feet, totaling an impressive 8400 feet net. Runners will find support at four aid stations strategically placed along the route, ensuring they have the necessary resources to tackle the course's demanding terrain.
