The Chippewa 50k trail race, initiated in 2008, challenges runners with a stunning yet demanding course. Starting and concluding at the Chippewa Moraine Center, this out-and-back route greets participants with an initial descent that leads to an uphill finish. The first and last three miles follow the scenic “Circle Loop,” while the majority unfolds along the Ice Age Trail, featuring marked mile signs for guidance. Runners will encounter numerous small hills sprinkled throughout the course, alongside roots and rocks that enhance the challenge. Careful navigation is essential, particularly at Cty Road M, which must be crossed twice. The vibrant beauty of the surroundings, combined with the trail's rugged nature, keeps participants coming back for the adventure.
