Set in the pristine, wild northeastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, this race traverses the stunning landscapes that inspired Ernest Hemingway's “The Big Two Hearted River.” Participants in the 50K and Marathon courses will navigate a rugged coastline with breathtaking views via single-track trails along high bluffs and lush shoreline forests, as well as peaceful stretches near Culhane Lake and the Little Two Hearted River. The terrain comprises 80% single track and 20% dirt forest roads. The half marathon offers a demanding loop through ancient white pine forests, culminating along the scenic ridge of Clark Lake. All races wrap up at the majestic Upper Tahquamenon Falls, the second tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi, with a welcoming brewpub just steps from the finish line. Prepare for an immersive experience that reshapes your connection with nature.
