The Shawnee Hills 100 features challenging trail races set in the picturesque Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois, offering 100-mile and 100K distances. The course consists of 80% single track dirt trails, interspersed with fire roads, rocks, roots, and creek crossings. Each loop includes approximately 3200 feet of elevation gain and loss, providing a rigorous experience for participants. Runners will have the opportunity to discover stunning landmarks such as Jackson Hollow, Belle Smith Springs, and Bay Creek Reservoir. Along the route, they will encounter several waterfalls, including the majestic Pakentuck Falls, Jackson Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and Cedar Falls, as well as breathtaking views from Salomon's Ridge.
